CFOB-FM

CFOB, branded as B93, is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 93.1 FM in Fort Frances, Ontario. The station airs an adult contemporary format.
The station was launched in 1944 as AM 1340 CKFI, a Dominion Network affiliate owned by local businessman J. G. McLaren. The station moved to AM 800 in 1952, and adopted the CFOB callsign in 1955.
The station was acquired by its current owner, Fawcett Broadcasting, in 1960. Fawcett sold the station to Border Broadcasting in 1966, but reacquired it in 1971.
In 1984, the station moved to AM 640. In 1989, the station began airing programming from CKIS in Winnipeg during the overnight hours.
In 2002, CFOB moved to the FM band.
Twice a day CFOB airs personal messages they receive intended for people in remote areas without normal means of communication.
As of October 2005 the station has been home to Mike Alan and the Mike Alan morning show. Mike, a graduate of Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, will celebrate his 1 year anniversary at the station on October 24th. Soon after his arrival Mike was joined by fellow classmate and graduate Shawn Gilmore and recently Bill Buschburger, another Humber graduate joined the CFOB (On-air Slogan B93FM) on-air staff.
