I corrected the semi incorrect statement that the cervical loop is the HERS. In the field of developmental biology the distinction is usually made between cervical loop and HERS because they are structurally different.--07:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Tummers

I added also something on the function of the cervical loop, that is its role as a stem cell niche. I only quoted one of the very first articles on this. There are many more recent ones. It's role is rather well established nowadays. --07:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Tummers
