The Centro Universitario Anglo Mexicano (Anglo-Mexican University Centre) is a high schools chain with home at Mexico City also called CUAM and incorporated to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
After Queen Elizabeth School wanted to have their own high school, Raúl Miranda Pasquel (current president of CUAM) was asked to open a proper high school. CUAM was inaugaurated in September 4, 1974, in Las Aguilas colonia, at Mexico City, now home of CEAM. CUAM has achieved success through thirty years, so in the 90's were opened more CUAM schools in Mexican province cities, like Cuernavaca, Acapulco and Cancún. This success resulted that in 1999 was inaugurated a secondary school, called Centro Educativo Anglo Mexicano or CEAM. The actual principal for CUAM is English Graduate Derek Wotton and Mexican Geographer Manuel Moro for CEAM, who was previously headmaster at CUAM. CUAM hosts every year since 2002 an academic exchange with DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, Minessota. Next exchange will happen from November 18 to December 2, 2006.
CEAM recently obtained one of highest scores at the national SEP test for secondary education. CUAM also leads in Cheerleading and Mathematics. An annual "Congreso de Investigación" (Scientific and humanist congress) is held in mid April in the Cuernavaca city CUAM, but is rarely won by CUAM as foreign schools take part in.
On the sports field, CUAM leads on cheerleading and soccer. Annual national competitions (called INTERCUAM) are held on the different campus since the early 90's. Notable teachers who had tought at CUAM include Aurelio Mariscal (since 1979) specializing on Logics and Philosophy and Laura Ruiz (currently at CEAM) on Mathematics.
Despite CUAM is not an University, it has direct recommendation to several national and foreign universities.
Currently, CUAM is planning to move to a newer building in Mexico City, next to CEAM.
