[edit] Introduction

The Centre for Timber Engineering (CTE) is based at Napier University, Edinburgh, Scotland. It is the only centre of its kind within the United Kingdom.

It was established following the result of a feasibility study carried out by The Scottish Forest Industries Cluster: a partnership between Forest Industries Development Council (now part of ConFor) and Scottish Enterprise.

The Centre for Timber Engineering (CTE) provides research, consultancy, information, education and training in the use of timber in construction. The CTE aims to support the various uses of timber in construction, for example to widen the use of timber for key building components.
