Centre for Quantum Computation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Centre for Quantum Computation or CQC, part of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, conducts theoretical and experimental research into all aspects of quantum information processing, and into the implications of the quantum theory of computation for physics itself. The centre was originally founded in Oxford, and split into two on the migration of Artur Ekert.
The Cambridge CQC is based at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP). The Oxford base is the Clarendon Laboratory (Lindemann building), which is located opposite the T-junction of Keble Road and Parks Road. The Cambridge group mostly works on theoretical research while Oxford concentrates on experimental implementations.
