Centre Hall is a borough in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It located in Penns Valley and is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,079 at the 2000 census.

Centre Hall is located at 40°50′39″N, 77°41′5″W (40.844287, -77.684615)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,079 people, 491 households, and 325 families residing in the borough. The population density was 671.9/km² (1,752.2/mi²). There were 514 housing units at an average density of 320.1/km² (834.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough was 99.63% White, 0.19% African American, 0.09% Native American, and 0.09% from two or more races.

There were 491 households out of which 21.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.8% were non-families. 29.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.69.

In the borough the population was spread out with 17.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 29.4% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males.

The median income for a household in the borough was $42,143, and the median income for a family was $49,333. Males had a median income of $34,271 versus $23,304 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $23,195. About 1.6% of families and 2.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under age 18 and 1.4% of those age 65 or over.
