Central Wisconsin Airport (IATA: CWA, ICAO: KCWA) is a public airport located three miles (5 km) southeast of Mosinee. The airport serves the cities of Stevens Point, Wausau, Marshfield (home to Marshfield Clinic), Wisconsin Rapids, tourism communities in northern Wisconsin, and the smaller exurbs of Hatley, Bevent, Rosholt, and Five Corners, with long runways that accommodate large jet aircraft.
The airport is ten miles south-southeast of Granite Peak Ski Area, located in Rib Mountain State Park.
Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA),(pronounced "C-Way"), is a joint venture of Marathon County and Portage County of Wisconsin. The facility opened for operation in October, 1969.
In 1997, the terminal was modernized with five new gates, and the highway access has been reconstructed.
