Central High School, often called Keller Central because of its proximity to the city of Keller, is a high school in Fort Worth, Texas. It was opened for the 2003-2004 school year. The class of 2006 was Central's first graduating class and the Class of 2007 will be the first four year graduating class, as the school had only a sophomore and freshman class when it opened. It was the third high school built in the Keller Independent School District.
Randy Baker was Central's principal when the school opened, but Baker left after the first half of the 2004-2005 school year and was replaced by David Hinson. The school was created by the citizens who approved a 2000 bond that led to the construction of a new school. Mr. Randy Baker was assigned to oversee the project. The school officially opened in August 2003. The school's name, mascot and colors were voted on by students who were to attend the school, and the Central Chargers became the name and mascot for the school. Central quickly grew in the first three years of its existence and has now reached a capacity of 2,400 students.
After only two years of varsity extracurricular experience Central was re-classified to 5A (Texas' highest class) in the 2006-2007 school year. Central is now in the UIL's district 5-5A facing, among others, their fellow district opponent, Keller High School and perennial powerhouse Southlake Carroll High School.
