Centereach High School is a secondary school in Centereach, NY. Centereach High School contains grades 9-12. The staff of Centereach High School is made up of professional educators and assistants, Ms. Alene Abrams is the Principal follow by a team of Assistant Principals: Dr. Visconti, Dr. Picone, Ms. Marshall. Along with Newfield High School, they make up the two High Schools in the Middle Country Central School District.
Centereach High School is located adjacently to Dawnwood Middle School, 1 mile south of Nicolls Road (Suffolk County Route 97) on Mark Tree Rd.
The school colors are blue and white and their mascot is the Cougar. They have an outstanding music program proven at the Music in the Parks 2006 competition where six out of the seven entries took first place and the chamber orchestra received gold with distinction. They also have a great auto program built in the school run by an outstanding teacher Tim Bourke. The students in his class are always hard at work fixing faculty's cars. They also have an amazing welder in his class that has a good future ahead of him.
They have a "rivalry" with the other high school in the district, Newfield High School. And the largest football game is usually the game versus Newfield. The football games attract large members of the community especially during homecoming where the school has a parade from the local Wal-mart shopping center to the high school.
Centereach High School's girl's field hockey team has won numerous divisional, county, and state championships under the coaching of Ms. Melfi.
