Centennial Field
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Centennial Field is a stadium in Burlington, Vermont. It is primarily used for baseball and soccer, and is the home field of the Vermont Lake Monsters minor league baseball team and University of Vermont athletic teams. It officially opened on April 17, 1906 with UVM's victory over the University of Maine.
Located on the University of Vermont campus, the first ball field, was built on the site in 1904. It was part of the sports complex constructed as part of the UVM Centennial celebration. The current concrete and steel main grandstand was erected in 1922, to replace the original wooden bleachers which had burned in 1913. It seats 4,000 for baseball.
