Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association
An international non-profit organization representing all sectors of wireless communications – cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio. Founded in 1984, the CTIA represents service providers, manufacturers, wireless data and Internet companies and other contributors to the wireless universe.
In the U.S.A. the CTIA represents its members in dialogue with policy makers in the Executive Branch, in the Federal Communications Commission, in Congress, and on the state, regulatory, and legislative levels. CTIA distributes information to members, policymakers, the investment community, customers and the news media on the latest policy and technical developments. CTIA's industry committees provide leadership in the areas such as spectrum allocation, homeland security, taxation, safety and technology. The CTIA also operates an equipment testing and certification program, and runs a large anti-fraud program.
The CTIA headquarters is located in Washington, D.C..
