In 2005, the series was produced for the American audience by the network, Harvey Walden remained as the fitness coach and Marisa Peer as the hypnotheripist, with Dr. David Katz on the panel, it was hosted by Ant. The celebrities that took part included:

Eastsiders (lost 98 pounds):

  • Daniel Baldwin (actor) (team captain)(turned up late for weigh-in 6 and failed to appear for the final)
  • Mia Tyler (plus-size model) - lost 19 pounds
  • Biz Markie (rapper/DJ) - lost 40 pounds
  • Mablean Ephriam (judge - Divorce Court) (traded from Ralphie's Angels where she was the team captain) - lost 25 pounds

Three Fat Bastards and One Black Beyotch (weigh-in 5-8) formerly Ralphie's Angels (weigh-in 2-4)(Winners)(lost 126 pounds):

The second series of the American version also took place in 2005, with Wendy Kaufman returning for a second season. On this season, this Linda Papadopoulos and Dr. Ian Smith join Harvey on the panel.

The third incarnation of the series began January 1, 2006.

Kelly's Bellies formerly Greased Lightning (named because they're "horny and fast") (Jeff Conaway's name) (Winners)(lost 96 pounds and earned a 10 pound credit):

  • Kelly LeBrock (actress/model) (appointed team captain after Jeff's exit) (lost 31 pounds)
  • Countess Vaughn (actress/comedienne) (gained 4 pounds) (traded from Ebony Flame)
  • Bizarre (rapper/actor) (lost 31 pounds)
  • Gunnar Nelson (musician) (replaced Jeff Conaway) (lost 23 pounds)
  • Jeff Conaway (original team captain of Greased Lightning) (actor) (lost 0 pounds) entered rehab in ep 3, returned in ep 7

Ebony Flame (named because two members are black, and two members are gay) (lost 90 pounds and the show):
