Celebrity Cruises is a cruise line founded in 1989 by the Greek Chandris Group. In 1997 Celebrity Cruises Ltd. merged with Royal Caribbean International to become Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which operates Celebrity and the Royal Caribbean International line, and RCL(UK) Ltd. Celebrity Cruises is considered a "Premium Class" cruise company, offering guest a more low key, yet elegant and sophisticated cruise experience. Common features onboard are aft-glass dining rooms, formal foyer areas, alternative restaurants, balcony and suite staterooms, large pools and lounging areas, signature bars and lounges, libraries, elegant spas and gyms, as well as relaxing areas.

Celebrity Cruises has ordered three new ships, the Solstice, the Equinox, and a third unnamed ship. These are to become Celebrity's largest vessels, holding 2,850 people each, and measuring 1,033 feet in length, and 121 feet across. They will be delivered in Fall 2008, Summer 2009, and Summer 2010.
