This article is part of WikiProject Iowa, a WikiProject related to the U.S. state of Iowa.

So, I added a picture. It's not the best, but it will do for now. Could someone post a pic of the Iowa portion of the river? There is a dam near the MN-IA border that's fairly picturesque if I'm not mistaken. A pic near where it joins the Iowa River that might also be nice - -to show it at it's biggest.--Hraefen 21:20, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move proposal

I propose that Cedar River (Iowa) be moved to Cedar River (Minnesota and Iowa) as it starts in Minnesota and enters the Mississippi in Iowa. PLease note any objections by August 14, 2006.--Hraefen ^Talk 18:49, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

• There doesn't seem to be a clear naming standard in these kinds of situations, so I've begun a discussion here at WikiProject Rivers using this case as an example. By past practice (to match other articles about rivers), if the article is to be moved, it should probably be moved either to "Cedar River (Minnesota-Iowa)" or to "Cedar River (Iowa River)". -- Malepheasant 03:13, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
• I'll await the river mavens for an answer. Of the two main types of naming conventions, my vote goes with the tributary (Cedar River (Iowa River)), although I can see where that could cause problems with disambiguation in certain areas.
