Cedar Creek Reservoir

Cedar Creek Reservoir is the name given to more than one lake in the United States. "Cedar Creek" is a common placename and a logical name for any man-made lake created by damming the waterway. The "cedar" in the name actually refers to junipers, mistaken by early European settlers for the Lebanon Cedars referred to in the Bible.

The Cedar Creek Reservoir is a large manmade lake that is located in Franklin County, Alabama along Cedar Creek.

Cedar Creek Reservoir in Texas, in Henderson County 60 miles (95 km) southeast of Dallas, has a drainage area of over 1,000 square miles (2,500 km2). The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department maintains three islands, totalling 160 acres (65 ha), as a Wildlife Management Area for aquatic birds [1]. The lake is owned by the Tarrant Regional Water District, and supplies water to Fort Worth and other cities and water districts in Tarrant and Johnson counties [2]. Construction on the lake started in 1961, and was completed in 1965.
