CE Electric UK Funding Company is an electrical distribution company based in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is the owner of Northern Electric Distribution Limited (NEDL) and Yorkshire Electrical Distribution plc (YEDL) which are the Distribution Network Operator for the North East England and Yorkshire regions.
The company was created after the takeover of Northern Electric by MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company in 1996. The company disposed of the supply business of Northern Electric to Innogy in 2001 in exchange for the distribution business of Yorkshire Electricity .
