How, exactly, is this template intended to be used? How is "significant collateral damage" to be defined? Are you even sure that it is collateral damage rather than a justified blocking of the user of the IP (who may, after all, be using a variety of sockpuppets, all from the same IP)?

Thinking about it a bit more, I would be be far more comfortable with a template that alerted us that:

Blocks to this anon IP address will also affect the following logged-in users:

• specify

Please consider the contribution history of all these users in addition to the contribution history of this anon IP when deciding if an IP-level block is appropriate.

This would be even better if we added some wikicode to make links to the contribution histories easier. Rossami (talk) 23:06, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
