From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a photograph of the Papal Bell that is found within Catholic basilicas. It is supposed to be used in special processions, however in practice the bell is normally left in place. In some basilicas there is no actual bell, a picture of the bell is painted on the wall. This bell is at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, St. Louis, Missouri. JesseG took this photo in December of 2004.
