The word catena has various meanings.
- Catena (pl. catenae) is the Latin word for 'chain'. Planetary geologists use the word to refer to chains of similarly sized impact craters.
- The Counts of Catena is a title held by certain members of the Maltese nobility.
- The Catena is a prayer said daily by members of the Legion of Mary. It consists mainly of the Magnificat.
- The International Masonic Union Catena, a masonic organization.
