Casey Cook (born 1977) is a conductor and composer of choral music. He is a graduate of Miami University, the University of South Florida, and currently is a doctoral candidate at the University of Arizona stuyding conducting with Bruce Chamberlain.
Casey began his conducting career with the Miami University Men's Glee Club, where he was named Assistant Conductor in 2000. After graduating in 2001, he spent two years as the Vocal Music Director for the Three Rivers School District in North Bend, Ohio. While there, Casey's students were invited to sing at the University of Cincinnati - College Convservatory of Music (CCM) and Miami University. Earning excellent ratings in Classes A and AA, Casey decided to continue pursuing his conducting scholarship at the University of South Florida (USF).
While in Tampa, Casey was the assistant conductor of the USF Chamber Singers, and a graduate assistant for a 500+ student class on Music in the United States. He also participated in the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay; resident choir for the Florida Orchestra. While at USF, Casey was offered the oppurtunity to conduct the American premiere of a choral work written for the Koren National Choir by Korean Composer Cecilia Heejeong Kim. Casey graduated in May of 2005 with a Master's Degree in Choral Conducting, studying with Robert Summer.
Residing now in Tucson, Arizona, Casey is a doctoral student in choral conducting. He is currently serving as the Assistant Conductor of the Tucson Chamber Artists, a professional chamber choir, the Composer-in-Residence at the Arizona Science Center, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Early Music Society.
An avid follower of Welsh male-voice choirs, Casey has taken many trips to Wales, studying and recording choirs in rehearsal and performance for thesis articles and a possible dissertation topic.
