Castagnole Monferrato is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 km east of Turin and about 11 km northeast of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,238 and an area of 17.3 km2.[1]
Castagnole Monferrato borders the following municipalities: Asti, Calliano, Grana, Montemagno, Portacomaro, Refrancore, and Scurzolengo. It is best known as the heart of the Ruché wine-growing region.
