Cassie is the self-titled debut album which was released on August 8, 2006 (but was leaked on August 3, 2006) by R&B singer Cassie. The album debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 with 100,374 copies sold. The album has performed below expectations selling only around 270,000 copies since its release. The album's first single "Me & U" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit the top 20 in six other countries. The album's second single, Long Way 2 Go, did not perform quite as well as "Me & U" did in the US (Long Way 2 Go only peaked at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100) , but it did peak at #3 on MTV's TRL. However, Long Way 2 Go did well in the United Kingdom and peaked at number 12 on the Top 75 singles chart. The third single will be "Kiss Me". Most of Cassie's album is produced by Ryan Leslie. The album is a mix of contemporary pop, R&B and she pays tribute to her Filipino culture incorporating OPM sounds into some of the ballads. She explains the album in an interview:

I rap, I sing, I do my R&B, I do my slow songs and stuff that the girls will love, I have a down South joint, I have a rock song that I did with my girls this band called Pretty Boys.
