Cassandra Whitehead

Cassandra Whitehead is a former beauty queen from Houston, Texas who competed in the fifth cycle of America's Next Top Model.
Whitehead competed in the Miss Texas Teen USA pageant from 2002 to 2004, and held the local title Miss Houston Teen USA in 2003.[1] She did not place in 2002 but was a semi-finalist in both 2003 and 2004. In these pageants, she competed alongside future Miss Texas USAs Lauren Lanning (2006) and Magen Ellis (2007). In 2005, Whitehead returned to the pageant circuit, winning the Miss Corpus Christi crown[2] (a title prevously held by Eva Longoria in 1998) and making the top 10 at Miss Texas USA 2005.[3] Whitehead is the cousin of beauty queen Nicole O'Brian, a former Miss Texas Teen USA and Miss Texas USA who has also appeared on reality television.
In 2005 Whitehead competed on America's Next Top Model, Cycle 5. During the makeover episode she was told that her long, dark hair would be cut extremely short and dyed blonde, similar to Mia Farrow in the film Rosemary's Baby.[4] It was difficult for her to accept this transformation and was the first time she had shown any sort of emotion on the show, tearing up and breaking down, although she did eventually go through with the cut. [5] Unfortunately, at the next judging panel Tyra Banks was not happy with the makeover, saying it was not the cut she had requested and wanted it shorter. [6] On the set of the next photoshoot she was asked to have it cut shorter or else she would be forced to quit. She refused to get it cut, and as a result was the first contestant ever to leave the show of her own volition. [7]
Whitehead attended Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
