[edit] History

Case can be traced back to 1842, when Jerome Increase Case (born in 1819) created the J I Case Company. He is recognized as the first person to create a steam engine for agricultural use. His company evolved into the Case Corporation, which merged with New Holland in 1999 to become CNH Global. The combined CNH is in the top three in the world of both construction and agricultural equipment. For a detailed history see Case Corporation History.
