Carterartist,
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We're glad you have decided to join the Wikipedia project, it's a lot of fun. However, I would like to mention that it is general Wikipedia practice to not write articles about ourselves in the general namespace. However, if you would like to post information about yourself, you may create a page at Carterartist, which is your personal page. On that page, you may post as much information about yourself as you would like, and we would love for you to do so there. I personally enjoy being able to find out more about the other people contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you will continue to help make Wikipedia a better place! EvilPhoenix

What if Shakespeare was alive, and could start writing his history? Or jesus? Or Michelangelo? I didn't mean to start a "vanity page" , but I am an artist, just like any other modern artist. So what's the harm in creating an article to comment upon this fact? Just like the artist who realized his art would never make it into a gallery, he put his pieces there himself, well I'm starting to write my history.
Just as it was innapropriate for the artist you mentioned to place his own work into a gallery, it is innapropriate for you to create an article about yourself on Wikipedia. It's a simple matter of courtesy, it would be like if I went to my own user page and awarded myself a Barnstar; only other Wikipedians may give me one, I can't just give one to myself. If you succeed as an artist to the point where you have achieved a certain level of notability, and someone else writes an article about you, that's fine, but it's just not appropriate for you to do this yourself, and doing so will never be looked at positively on Wikipedia. As I said previously, feel free to write about yourself and your work on your user page, User:carterartist. EvilPhoenix 20:45, May 16, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sean Michael Carter

The article you created is about to be deleted as per the results of the deletion process. I'm copying the text here in case you wish to put it on your user page:

Sean Carter, better known as Carter as he signs his name, but his shows are in the name of Sean Michael Carter. He was born in Ridgecrest, California on September 15, 1976. He taught himself how to draw, but it wasn't until he was educated at Mt. Sac in Walnut, California, did he truly understand and appreciate art. Thru the tutelage of Kirk Pederson he was introduced to the importance of Cropping and Composition. Kirk also helped introduce the young man into the wonderful world of painting.

Carter was raised in various cities of California along with his younger brother, Philip Carter (a successful accountant), and his Father, Laurence Carter. He joined the army at the age of 17, with his best friend, Anders Peterson (also a great artist). He was stationed at Camp Casey, Korea, then was transfered to Fort Hood, Texas.

He matured greatly during this time in the service of his country. His art at the time was still very naive and dark. He returned home, to Chino Hills, California in 1997. Within a month of his arrival he would witness the accidental shooting of a good friend of his, Mikkel. It would be a dark point in his life, where he turned to a life of alcohol and women. Thru the use of art, he would find an escape from this dark point in his life. After graduating from Mt. Sac, he turned to Hollywood. He pursued a life of film and fine art. A great adventure that sadly only gave him three small art shows, one student film, one sold painting, but some great memories and friends.

He is currently on his way into becoming a graphic designer, but his other interests will not rest. He is an avid anti-war speaker, and has contemplated many times on starting an art movement to point out the need for legitimacy for war like aggression.
