[edit] License tagging for Image:HarleyandIvy.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:HarleyandIvy.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Weasel words
Wikipedia:Avoid weasel words. There's the link. I recommend that you read it. The purpsoe of the policy is to prevent opinion or speculation from being snuck into an article in the form of more verbose writing. Just because YOU see a section of the book as 'Kind of... suggesting a dendrophiliac' lifestyle doesn't make it so. I may choose to see that page as Ivy displaying her inherent sensuality, but in no way engaging in intercourse with the plant. Or, I might see it for the artist's intended purpose, parody. However, I can't add any of those until there's a source for any one of those three interpretations. Also, I have no idea who you are, a GIPU made all those edits. I'm assuming you've registered just to claim I'm out to get you. I'm not. I'm 'out to get' a good article.ThuranX 11:30, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Don't replace free use images with fair use like you did with Gregory Peck as this isn't allowed. Jaranda wat's sup 02:30, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Editing
It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from an article. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. -Shannernanner 07:36, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Silverst.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Silverst.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Category:Comic book characters that have been resurrected
Please stop adding articles to this category; it will be deleted shortly. Many, many, many categories have been created in the past for comic book characters who have died and/or been resurrected, and all of these have been deleted according to community consensus that 1) it's rather nonsensical to speak of a fictional character "dying", 2) it's especially nonsensical to make such categories for comic book characters, where it is the rare hero who hasn't died and been reborn at some point or another. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:ClarkGableI.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:ClarkGableI.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Rossrs 11:06, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
