Talk:Carl Scully

References - does it still need any more? I guess the two links provide some backup but they don't really provide grounding for any comments regarding how safe a seat Smithfield is or any backroom issues regarding his failed bid to become Premier. Garrie 00:41, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 'Sparkles' Scully
I've often seen him referred to as 'Sparkles' in a number of places. How did he get the name and is it common in New South Welsh media? MickBarnes 09:04, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- The "Sparkles" reference comes from Scully's speech announcing his candidacy for Premier - he said he would "bring some sparkle to the Government" if elected to the top job. It had particular resonance as Scully speaks in something of a monotone.
- "Sparkles" does not have general currency as a Scully nickname, but is occasionally used by 2UE morning radio host Mike Carlton, or shouted across the Chamber by Opposition MP's when Scully speaks. Jeendan 03:04, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
