In casual MTG games I sometimes saw players who used card sleeves to easily make proxies. The actual card would be a common, but they'd also slip in a piece of paper with the title of the card it was supposed to represent. Sure. Sounds reasonable to me; it's something you can do with card sleeves that's not so easy to do without them. And I think it can be sourced, there's surely an article on the Wizards site somewhere that talks about this phenomenon. Mangojuice 12:11, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

With some tape it's easy to do w/o a backing, but it's really noticable (e.g marking).--Nog64 03:21, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
