1955 — Ford Motor Company management approve the creation of a new line of mid-priced cars, thus creating the Edsel
1992 — Ford Motor Company purchases 50% of Mazda's AutoAlliance International plant, home to the Ford Probe and Mazda 626 and later site for production of the Mazda6 and Ford Mustang.
2006 — Famed female stock car driver, Louise Smith dies
