Cary-Grove High School is a high school in Cary, Illinois, USA; it is part of Community High School District 155. It is called Cary-Grove because its students are from both Cary, IL, and Fox River Grove, IL. It was the subject of much news attention after the Fox River Grove level crossing accident that killed seven students. In 2006, on the anniversary of the accident, another Cary-Grove student was killed at the same crossing.
The school's team name is the Cary-Grove Trojans, with their signature "Trojan Man" mascot - a selected student fitted with a Trojan costume who runs around and "excites" the home crowd during football games. This Trojan man resembles the likes of the Trojan Man of Trojan brand condoms. The Trojan carries a sword and most of the time he will do push ups for every time the Trojans score.
The Trojans' football team made it to state in 2004, but lost in the state finals. {The last couple of years Cary-Grove has made it to the quarterfinals but have had to close games losing to rival Crystal Lake South and long distance opponent Batavia. Cary plays at Al Boehr Field which can get pretty crowded. Cary runs an option offense and a complex defense one of the best in the Fox Valley Conference.
