Cartoon Pizza

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cartoon Pizza is an animation company co-founded by Jim Jinkins and David Campbell as the successor to Jinkins' former company, Jumbo Pictures, Inc.

Jumbo was founded by Jinkins, then working as a Nickelodeon cartoon artist, in 1986. It produced Doug (through both Nickelodeon and Disney), as well as PB&J Otter and 101 Dalmatians: The Series.

The studio was dissolved in 2000, after PB&J Otter went out of production, but was soon re-born as Cartoon Pizza. Since then, it has produced Disney Channel's hugely successful Stanley as well as JoJo's Circus, Pinky Dinky Doo and HoopDogz.

A hallmark of both companies has been their commitment to the continued use of hand-painted "cell" animation at a time when animated series are increasingly produced using "digital" ink and paint.
