Carrick Primary School, Warrenpoint

Carrick Primary School is a primary school located in Warrenpoint, County Down, Northern Ireland. It caters for girls and boys aged from 3 to 11 and has 320 pupils. It is within the Southern Education and Library Board area. The school was opened in 1939 [1].

In recent years had has to cope with increasing enrolment, with many pupils having to use mobile classrooms.[2] In 2000 education minister Martin McGuinness announced that the need for a new school building was to be appraised [3]. In 2004 the school received a £2.4 boost in funding for a new building on an adjacent site. [4]
