Carrasco International Airport (IATA: MVD, ICAO: SUMU) is the largest airport in Uruguay. It is located in the Canelones department, near the capital city of Montevideo, which it serves. Carrasco is the name of the area where the airport is located, which extends into eastern Montevideo.
In 2003, the government transferred the administration, operation and maintenance of the airport to private investment group.
This airport is collecting an Airport Improvement Fee.
