The Carr Mills halls of residence opened in 2006 and is currently the newest of University of Leeds' student residences. It is approximately one mile from the university campus and provides accommodation for nearly 300 students. Carr Mills is self catering accommodation currently exclusively used by first year undergraduate students.

[edit] The Accommodation

The halls are divided into 4 blocks (A - D); Block A houses 60 students, Block B houses 72, Block C houses 82, and Block D houses 84. The accommodation is divided into flats with between 4 and 7 students sharing a kitchen / communal area. All rooms are en-suite.

Despite being a new residence Carr Mills has a social committee and is fielding teams to the university's various inter-halls competitions. Social events organised so far include a Welcome party, a Halloween celebration, a visit to watch Countdown (a student institution) being filmed, and a Christmas party.
