Carolina Barco

Ms. Carolina Barco Isakson (born 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States) is Colombia's ambassador to the United States.[1] Barco served as the Foreign Minister of Colombia from August 2002, when President Álvaro Uribe took office, to 10 July 10, 2006 when she became the Colombian ambassador to the U.S, replacing ex-President Andrés Pastrana Arango. She is the daughter of former President Virgilio Barco. Barco and his wife were in Boston with Barco studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, when Barco's wife gave birth to Carolina Barco Isakson.[citation needed]
