Carola Unterberger-Probst (born 9 May 1978 in Salzburg), aka [cup] or Carola Unterberger, is an internationally known Austrian media artist and philosopher of art. In addition to video installations and experimental films, her work contains Objet d'art, paintings and digital art.

Unterberger-Probst was born in 1978 in the city of Salzburg, growing up and attending school in Bischofshofen and later studying in Radstadt. After graduation, she moved to Linz at the Danube and began studying at the Art University of Linz. In 2000 at the Paris London University of Salzburg, she started the individual diploma study Analysis and Production of Audiovisual Media considering Scientific Methods and Gender Studies. This combined studies of visual media design, film & video, political sciences, communication sciences, history of art and sociology. During this time she undertook study trips to Paris, London, Hamburg and Cologne.

She married Georg Probst in 2003 and in 2005 they adapted the historical "Bakery Building" at the "Old Market Place" in Linz which they now use to run a bar and their studio, "Atelier am Alten Markt".

The artworks of Carola Unterberger-Probst are reflective. Unterberger-Probst occupies herself with the postmodern discourse, deconstruction and questions on media and arts. The basis of her artworks are fragments of the "media world".

Her work has been displayed at exhibitions, screenings and festivals, such as the Ars Electronica Festival, Linz Festival, Transpublic, Posthof Linz, Kliemsteinhaus Linz, Galerie Palais Mannstorff, Wyspa Danzig, Witte de With Rotterdam, Netherland TV station NOS, and Austrian TV station ORF. In 2005 her work as the project coordinator at the art association Medea was honored with the National Culture Price for Art of Intercultural Dialogue award.

Since 1999, she has developed numerous additional theoretical discourse contributions. She has been a guest at various events, such as the film festival Youki, Kinderfreunde Austria, Women's IT Summer Studies, Capturing the... Truth? (Berlinale 2005), and the Congress of the German Society of Semiotics.

Since 1996, she has developed numerous cinematic and contemporary works of art. From 2002 to 2005 the Association for Arts and Media formed the creative and scientific center of various projects. Since 2005, she has worked as a freelance artist. She has had exhibitions/presentations at Ars Electronica Festival, Linz Fest, Transpublic, Posthof Linz, Kliemsteinhaus Linz, Galerie Palais Mannstorff, Wyspa Danzig, Witte de With Rotterdam, Netherland TV station NOS, Austrian TV station ORF, and an Upperaustrian Newspaper, and recieved the 2005 National Culture Prize for "Art of Intercultural Dialogue for Media."
