Carol Jantsch

Carol Jantsch was named the Principal Tuba Player for the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of 20 in February, 2006[1]. She assumed the chair, full-time, with the 2006-2007 concert season. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

Ms. Jantsch is the youngest member of the Orchestra and is, according to National Public Radio [2], the first woman to hold a Principal Tuba chair among major orchestras in the United States.
