Carnival of Rust is the first single and the title track of the Carnival of Rust album by the Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. The single contains two versions of the track and an exclusive band's first-ever released live recording, "Don't Mess With Me" from the first album Signs of Life. The track was recorded on July 15, 2005 at Rockperry Festival in Vaasa, Finland.

The song has gained a significant success by immediately hitting the number one on YleX's Most Wanted and staying on top of the list for four months (for now). It was also the most played song on YleX and was #2 in overall sales/radio/video/disco play list and #1 in the radio play list on Rumba's 50 Hits list.

[edit] Trivia

  • Single's cover features a pattern which can be spotted in band's first video, Late Goodbye in the room scene.

There are various references in the video, which can be spotted throughout:

  • Carnival of Rust is the name of the place where action's taking place.
  • Video features all members of the band and people that support "Poets of the Fall" on their live performances.
  • Singer Mark is closed in a booth which has fragments of "Gravity"'s lyrics printed on it.
  • The bearded lady's tattoo says "Delicious" which is the title of the tenth track of "Carnival of Rust" album.
  • Ticket printed at the end of the video says "Cor Cordis". In Latin, both of these words mean "heart". There's also a small "4" printed on the bottom of the ticket, which is probably a reference to another album's track, "All The Way / 4U".
