Carndonagh
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carndonagh (Carn Domhnach in Irish) is a town in County Donegal, Republic of Ireland. It is located near Malin Head on the Inishowen peninsula in the north of Ireland. It is the site of the Donagh Cross which belonged to an early Christian monastery that was founded by St. Patrick for Bishop Mac Cairthen, brother of the bishop of Clogher.
It was once claimed that the town had the largest secondary school in the Republic of Ireland, Carndonagh Community School. However, the school's claimed enrollment was greatly reduced when a new school was opened in Moville.
