Carlton Kids was a children's channel provided by Carlton Television, and started broadcasting in 1997 and closed in the year 2000. It was launched as part of a family of Carlton channels, including Carlton Food Network, Carlton World, Carlton Cinema and Carlton Select. On ONdigital, it timeshared on channel 34 with Carlton World and another channel named RAW!
The channel showcased children's programming from Carlton and their commissions, including Mopatop's Shop, Birthday People, Junior Television Workshop and Starstreet.
The channel ceased broadcasting in 2000 due to poor uptake, and on Carlton's prime platform, ITV Digital, the channel was replaced with Discovery Kids and Discovery Wings.
Carlton Television has since merged with Granada Television and has formed ITV plc. Programming from Carlton Kids was absorbed by ITV plc's CITV, and from 2006, the newly launched CITV Channel shows some of its programming.
