Carlton Bruner

Thomas Carlton Bruner (born February 1, 1972) is a former long-distance freestyle swimmer from the United States, who was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in his city of birth.

Bruner started his swimming career at the Dynamo Swim Club. The Dynamos, a club that has developed into one of the premiere swim groups in America, prepared Bruner for a career filled with championships and record titles. Bruner placed third in both the 1993 and 1995 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships 1500m freestyle, and first in the 1995 Pan American Games in the same event.

In 1994, Bruner was considered one of the top ten in the world for both the 800m and 1500m freestyle, and in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, placed thirteenth in the 1500m freestyle.
