Carlos Bernard Papierski (born October 12, 1962 in Chicago), is an American actor, best known for his role as Tony Almeida in 24.
[edit] Biography
Bernard received a Master of Fine Arts degree from American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
He performed in A.C.T. stage productions:
At the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, he performed in Scenes From an Execution, with Frank Langella.
He has guest starred in roles on Walker, Texas Ranger, F/X: The Series, Babylon 5, Maloney, and Silk Stalkings.
He has appeared as a regular on the daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless. He has appeared in feature films such as Vegas: C.O.D., The Killing Jar, and The Colonel's Last Flight.
However, throughout all these roles, he hadn't reached any major level of success until 2001 when he joined the cast of the FOX Network's television drama 24, where he played Tony Almeida, a government agent for a fictional agency called CTU (counter-terrorist unit).
Bernard held the role for three seasons until his character, along with several others, was written out at the end of Season 3 (2004). His absence was short-lived, however, as he returned midway through the fourth season (2005) credited as "Special Guest Star".
His name returned to be credited on the main cast at fifth season (2006), only to have his ultimate ending after four appearances.
Carlos Bernard married actress Sharisse Baker in 1999. They have one child, daughter Natalie, born in August, 2003.
Carlos plays on the World Poker Tour in the Hollywood Home games for the PS Arts charity.
