Carl Robinson is a fictional character from Highlander: The Series, portrayed by Bruce A. Young. He is an Immortal.

[edit] 1824-1859

Carl Robinson was born in 1824 in New Orleans. He was a foundling who grew up to be a slave. Like all slaves, his life was a very rough life. Carl had to put up with abuse by the masters and family.

In 1859, Carl's master, Seth Hobart, had a daughter who got knocked up by one of the slaves, she pointed out Carl as the one who knocked her up, but Carl could not be the father. Seth shot Carl and killed him. A few minutes later, Carl came back to life and became Immmortal. He ran away not knowing what happened to him.

Carl ran into men who were looking for runaway slaves and was caught. Later on, the men took him to be sold and it was along the road that Carl would meet his teacher, Matthew McCormick. Matthew bought Carl from the slave traders. Matthew raised his sword and to Carl's surprise, cut the chains and freed Carl. They later on became friends. Carl wants to get revenge on Seth Hobart, but Matthew tells Carl that he is an Immortal and must put mortal concerns behind him. Matthew reveals that he is the fiance of Hobart's daughter. Carl leaves, but goes to kill Seth Hobart, it was because of this, Matthew became really angry with Carl and holds a grudge against Carl.

In 1926, Louisiana, Carl and 2 of his friends were walking on the road and ended up getting lynched by members of the Ku Klux Klan. They were about to be hanged until a man in a car drove by, Carl sensed the presence of another Immortal, Duncan MacLeod. Duncan saves Carl and his friends from the Klan. The Klan shoot MacLeod, who revives. The Klan members hunt down Carl and his friends, using dogs to sniff them out. Carl and his friends split up so the dogs can smell his scent. Carl is nearly caught until MacLeod drives up and save him. later on, they stop at a farm and talk to one another. Carl has plans to play baseball and he hopes to strike out Babe Ruth, he also has dreams of being a politician.

In 1954 Alabama, Carl meets up with Duncan MacLeod, Carl is playing baseball. They go to a restaurant and see people looking at Carl. Duncan and Carl see a sign that says "No Colored People". The owner refuses to serve Carl. The sheriff sitting next to them refuses to do anything about the treatment of Carl and they decide to leave. Duncan reads a new paper article saying about Segegration being unconstitutional. Carl saw the article and really is very happy. Carl is seeing that change is happening.

In Seacouver, Carl has fulfilled some of his dreams like going to college, but things got bad for him when he saw the treatment of some blacks, which he gave up hope. He meets a young boy named Ricky Price and became friends. On day, they stumble on a drug dealer and Carl steals money from the drug dealer and run off. Carl ends up stealing a car which belonged to Charlie DeSalvo, a friend of Duncan MacLeod and drives off and wrecked it cause Charlie tried to stop him.

Duncan finds Carl at a shipyard and talks to Carl, seeing what happened to him. Later on, Carl stops at the dojo, to talk to MacLeod and Carl and Charlie exchange words. Carl gives Charlie the money to fix his car. Charlie reported him to the police and is told by a police officer named Carter, who is a Renegade Watcher, that Carl is wanted for murder in Arizona. Duncan confronts Carl about that and Carl claims he did not kill anyone.

Later that night, Officer Carter and his partner, Officer Kenny catch Ricky and Carter beats on him. Ricky tells Carl and Duncan what happened. Carl goes to find Carter, but Carter finds him and gets out an axe and is about to chop off Carl's head, but a group of kids come by and Carter is stopped. Duncan goes to talk to Officer Kenny, who does not believe Duncan. Duncan learns from the police that Carl is not wanted for murder.

Duncan tells Carl about the Watchers cause Carl saw a tattoo on Carter's wrist, a police car is driving, Duncan and Carl get shot at by Carter. Later on, Carl is at the shipyard and is about to be beheaded by Carter, but Kenny is there and shoots Carter. Things are better for Carl, he has his hope back and now is playing for a minor league baseball team.

[edit] 1996

In 1996 in Seacouver, Carl is still playing baseball for the team and is signing autographs at the stadium after the game. After the signing, he senses the presence of another Immortal, he is Myron Corman, they have it out with their sword, Carl takes his head and receives his Quickening. Some of the people see the lighting striking and see carl with a sword in his hand and tells them it is not what it seems. Carl is on the run, he goes to the abandoned factory and sends Duncan MacLeod a message.

The FBI at at the scene, Immortal Matthew McCormick is at the scene investgating. He is now an FBI agent. Meanwhile, Carl and Duncan talk and go to the dojo and see Matthew McCormick there and drive away so he can't see them, but he sense their presence. Later on, Carl's manager, Trey Franks, confesses to the murder and is arrested. Carl is happy now that he is free. Duncan can't let Trey take the wrap for Carl. Carl decides not to do the right thing, saying Trey is nothing. Duncan convinces Carl to do the right thing, they get into a fight, but not with their sword. Carl meets up with Matthew McCormick who end up nearly fighting Carl, Duncan talks Matthew out off killing Carl cause Carl wanted them to release Trey cause Carl realised that Trey is not a nobody. Matthew stages a shootout with Carl to help him escape. Carl, Duncan, and Matthew go to the stadium and see Trey and Trey is surprised to see Carl alive and accepts what he sees, after Carl and Trey talk, Trey tells Carl he needs to learn to do better on his curve pitch.

Carl Robinson is now living in Trinidad, coaching a little league team and now is the teacher of a young Immortal named Derek Worth.
