Carl Muggleton (born 13 September 1968 in Leicester) is an English football goalkeeper. He currently plays for League Two side Mansfield Town for whom he signed a one-year contract on 17 July 2006. He has previously played for a number of clubs, most notably Leicester City, Stoke City, Celtic and Chesterfield.

Muggleton began his career at Leicester City, where he spent most of his time in the reserves, making only 54 first-team appearances in seven years. He also had loan spells at Chesterfield, Blackpool, Hartlepool and Stockport during his tenure at Filbert Street.

In January 1994, Muggleton was surprisingly signed by Scottish giants Celtic. He played 13 games for the Bhoys, before joining Stoke in the summer of 1994. In a seven-year spell at Stoke, Muggleton played more than 150 games. Towards the end of his stay in Stoke, he lost his place and was loaned to Rotherham, Sheffield United, Chesterfield, Mansfield and Cardiff.

Muggleton was released by Stoke in 2001. He had short spells with Cheltenham and Bradford City in 2001-02, and joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2002. Muggleton played 112 league games for the Spireites during his four-year stay with the club. He was released at the end of the 2005-06 season, and joined Chesterfield's neighbours and arch-rivals Mansfield in the summer of 2006, where it is believed he will become Jason White's backup.

At international level, Muggleton played once for England Under-21, in a match against France in 1990.
