"Caring Is Creepy" is the first song on The Shins' debut album, Oh, Inverted World, and is the exemplification of the group's melodic pop. With its blend of guitar and synthesizers, "Caring Is Creepy" not only served as the perfect opener to the Shins' debut, but also established the band's unique sound.

This song appeared in the 2004 film Garden State, and on the soundtrack to the movie.
