Carine Senior High School is a co-educational government secondary school, located on Everingham Street in the suburb of Carine, Western Australia. The school is close to the ocean, north-west of Perth and approximately 15kms from the city centre. The current Principal is Paul Ganderton. The current Head Boy and Head Girl are Brent Eales and Jasmine Angelev respectively. Current prefects, in alphabetical order, are: Chris Chesky, Charli Davies, Tommy Dempers, Sam Down, Alex Nell, Courtney Rawlings, Robbie Reid, Mark Scott, Sophie Sharp and Shirley Thoo.

Carine Senior High School was established in 1973 and reached Senior High School status three years later. It now caters for roughly 1290 students from Years 8 to 12, and offers a range of Tertiary, Non-Tertiary and VET (Vocational Education and Training) subjects in Years 11 and 12.

  • Approximately 50% of graduating students gain university admission, exceeding the state average by 15%.[citation needed]
  • Every year, a number of graduating students are ranked in the top percentile of state-wide students, and several receive Certificates of Excellence and higher awards.[citation needed]
  • Carine Senior High School students have performed strongly in state and national academic competitions such as the Australian Mathematics Competition, RACI Titration Stakes and APPEA program, and are also regular participants in the Sharemarket Game, Solar Car Challenge and Electric Vehicle Challenge to name but a few.[citation needed]
  • The school typically excels in sporting competitions such as interschool athletics and swimming meets.[citation needed]
  • Carine has also had success in dance, drama, debating, music and art events.[citation needed]
  • In 2005 the school was awarded the custody of the Sandakan Memorial in Kings Park, Perth, in recognition of its long-standing participation in a flower-laying ceremony on the plaques sited on trees within Kings Park commemorating fallen servicemen and women. The school has conducted this remembrance on 24th April, the day before ANZAC Day,since 1986.
