Career Day is an episode from That 70s Show.
It's a real eye-opener for the gang when the high school holds a Career Day and the students have to accompany their parents to work.
[edit] Plot summary
On Friday the high school has a career day. Eric is going to be with Kitty, the nurse, at the hospital. Donna is going to see Bargain Bob in action. Hyde & Fez are going to accompany the school cafeteria lunch lady, Hyde's mom. Kelso is going to see his dad who is a senior executive statistical analysis technician. Red who works a half day at the auto parts plant is going to work on Eric's car and Jackie is only a sophomore so she just ends up hanging with Red after getting out of school.
Eric's day with Kitty is overwhelming for him when he follows Kitty while she makes her rounds. He sees nasty things, casts, and even watches Kitty deliver a baby which makes him faint. He finds out how knowledgeable of the patients she is by getting to know them and finding out that one of them died which freaks him out. Eric asks her while driving home how she deals with people sick and dying all day and she is just singing and gets Eric to sing. (What is the name of the artist & song? - Would anyone please insert this information here...Thank You)
Bargain Bob has turned his appliance store into a mini circus complete with clowns, him wearing a ringmaster suit, and a monkey because of a three-day promotional sale. Donna is embarrassed of her father which he tells her that he does this stuff so that he can pay for her to go to college and achieve great things which makes her feel bad about being embarrassed.
Hyde's mom, better known as Gross Edna, lives up to her name being very gross. Fez wants to explore and learn while Hyde really doesn't want to be there. After Edna and Hyde share an argument about how he being born is the reason she had to quit being in show business and become a cafeteria lady which ended with Hyde walking out on her. Hyde comes back later so Edna tells him she'll buy him a beer and they'll spend some time together.
Kelso can't understand what his dad does. His dad tries every way possible to help him understand what he does by showing a chart, explaining his job duties but its to no avail as Kelso lets him know he's just going to say that he's a farmer.
While Red is working on Eric's car Jackie shows up and Red asks her to hold a flashlight, something Eric couldn't do right the day before. She does it right and Red is shocked. He then teaches her how to take off a tire and the two work on Eric's car for the remainder of the day. Jackie tells Red that she doesn't get to spend much time with her father because he works all the time but she still loves him because he buys her stuff.
