Welcome!
Hello, Captain538, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!
Yep. A welcome from an IP. --172.193.50.226 02:54, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcoming messages
Hello, I noticed you recently welcomed several new users and thought I'd give you a few pointers:
- You'll want to type "subst:" before the "welcome" in the templete so that the message will be substituted. It will look like this: {{Subst:welcome}}
- Be sure to sign after the welcome with --~~~~ , so that whoever you're welcoming will know who welcomed them!
Other than that, you're doing fairlay well for a new user. I'm on AOL, so anything you need to say to me will most likely never reach me, but if you have any questions you can put them on my old talk page, and I'll try and help out.
Cheers,
--172.193.50.226 03:01, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Very good
You're getting the hang of it very quickly! But something important you'll want to remember is to always use edit summaries. They let the rest of us know exactly what you are doing, and without them you may be mistaken for a vandal. --172.190.104.179 15:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Stats editing
Editing this file: Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Scouting articles by quality statistics is not necessary as the bot runs every night to update it, so it'll just overwrite whatever you change anyway. Rlevse 16:14, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help with my userpage...
- Moved from Talk: Main Page
Below the Scouting userbox in the left column, there is a line break... I switched around some things and came to the conclusion that the Scouting template was indeed the culprit. I went to see the source of the template, and it seemed that nothing was wrong? So, how can I fix it? --Captain538 02:08, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
You mean that the Irish Ancestry box is a tad indented? I think that's the Irish templete itself. You could edit it directly to make its size uniform with the others. --172.193.50.226 02:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- If you still need help, try using the {{helpme}} template. --64.229.230.179 16:33, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

- It's fixed, anyway. --172.193.142.75 18:11, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Chathamhighschool.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Chathamhighschool.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Help!
On my userpage, the main userbox table is floating off of the left side of the page a bit, while the language one is hugging the side. How can I get the main userbox table like the language one?
- Allo, Captain! I expect what's happening there is that {{userboxtop}} is expecting to be placed on the right side, so it includes a little padding on the left to keep it from running into the text. Using {{Userboxtop|Mah userboxes.|left|extra-css = margin-left: 0em;}} seems to get closer to what you have in mind. -- nae'blis 21:39, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Pit maneuver.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Pit maneuver.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Uploading music
I'm fairly sure you can upload music to the commons, but-as I've never had an account-I dunno exactly how. --172.193.16.56 00:12, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, that would be me, though the last name spelling is off a bit. Hello there *waves* good to see another NJ resident on wiki. Cheers. —lensovet–talk – 17:26, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Barnstar Creating
Captain538,
Hello. About the Nintendo barnstar that you've created, I think you shuol add a bit more detail in it, like add some more things to represent Nintendo and make the second edition of the barnstar. --Jacklau96 07:41, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reveille tune image edit
Hi, I edited the tune image and put my "new" version into Reveille. The image quality may have suffered in the process of repeated conversion to JPEG. If you could fix it in the original, it will probably look better.
See http://www.usscouts.org/mb/bugle/reveille.GIF for a more credible source than this sorry bugler's memory. Thanks for adding the tunes to the calls! Just plain Bill 00:06, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] conducting images
Hi, I've made new images and replaced Image:34time.jpg etc. in Conducting. I hope you're ok with that. Han-Kwang 12:39, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
