In the fictional Star Trek universe, Captain Sanders, played by Eric Pierpoint in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's "For The Uniform", is the commanding officer of the Excelsior class starship USS Malinche.
After the Defiant is disabled by a computer virus planted by Starfleet-turned-Maquis operative Michael Eddington, the Malinche tows the Defiant back to DS9. Sanders and his ship are then tasked with the responsibility of apprehending Eddington. However, the Malinche is seriously damanged by a Maquis ambush.
