The sport of hurling is probably the most popular in Cappamore but Gaelic football, athletics (Bilboa AC) and soccer (Cappamore Celtic FC) have grown in popularity in recent years. In recent years Bilboa FC have emerged as the dominant soccer team in the parish, easily eclipsing the achievements of their rivals Cappamore Celtic, and in doing so breaking the monopoly that Cappamore Celtic had hitherto enjoyed in the parish.
